SAQUAH, Wash. - An Issaquah school bus driver who was fired for "flipping off" President Bush is trying to get her job back.
The 43-year-old has filed a union grievance against the district, claiming wrongful termination. Congressman Dave Reichert said the obscene gesture occurred as he was traveling in the president's limo in June on the way to a fund-raiser in Medina. At a freeway ramp the limo passed several Issaquah school buses. The students waved to the president and Bush waved back. Bush was having a good time until he saw the driver. Bush turned to Reichert and said the driver had flipped him off. Reichert later called the school district and the driver was fired in September. A spokeswoman, Sara Niegowski, said the gesture was "not at all appropriate modeling for students on the bus." ---------------------------------------------- My thoughts - i give her props for having the balls to express how some of us feel in the country and itd be different if you were in your own vehicle (though you should have some respect for the office) but you are on the job just like Id probably get fired if I flipped off a client of ours. So I think she should just drop it and go get a new job This post has been edited by BlackCelicaGT94: Nov 2, 2006 - 11:17 AM -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

WTF? In a free world one can express his/her feelings or opinions. Bush was not her or her company's client, so it has nothing to do with it.
Regarding schoolchildren - sorry, but how are they to learn what is happening, what people think and what options they have? if not by experiencing such situations. For me this is b@#$%^t, there is no single truth, no single right way - so opportunity to experience variety of thoughts, opinions, behaviours etc. is the only way one can compare, analyse and choose. Sorry if I sound bit extreme but I am fed up with right winged conservative government we have now in Poland - trying to control everything so I scream for freedom!!! -------------------- '94 ST202 - tuned, highly apprieciated, but sold.
