ok. so i've installed my jdm mirrors. i've already figured out which wires do what (ie retracting and adjusting). i got the mirror control relay with mine also
everything seemed pretty straight forward after all the testing.. the vertical and horizontal wires match up with the stock ones.. i'm trying to get my mirrors to work with the relay.. ![]() ![]() based on the pic above.. the wires on the mirror control relay matched up with the retracting wires for both mirrors. that just leaves me with three wires left: 1. Pink Wire (99% sure it's the switch wire which connects with the pink wire from the control switch) 2. White wire with Black Strip (i'm almost sure it's the Ground/Chassis wire??) 3. Blue wire with Yellow Strip (i'm guessing this is the Positive Battery wire??) everything is wired up, but still won't retract.. need help This post has been edited by azian_advanced: Jul 31, 2006 - 8:55 AM -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

ok... i figured out a few things since then.. fuse no longer blows, that was just me testing a few things to figure out how things worked.
anyway, the main problem is my mirror relay.. the wires are wired up as in the 2nd diagram above.. i took apart the relay box and pulled out the circuit board.. there are four relays on the board.. -driver-side open -driver-side close -pass-side open -pass-side close i tested the soldered parts connecting those relays on the board. 3 of them were switching but one was locked for some reason and wouldn't switch.. apparently, this is the root of my problem. i got another toyota mirror relay but instead has different wiring than the original one. this leaves me to either: 1. get another identical relay (with the exact part number) 2. figure out another way to open and close without the control switch.. though that would totally suck. i'm leaning towards #1. i want to use the control switch and i want to wire them up with my alarm module. it seems the ST185s use the same relay box as the pre96 ones afaik.. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
