um.. i just had a question...
so if u're collecting parts for a diy turbo kit.. but you don't have everything to put it together yet... how do you test a used turbo to make sure it's in good shape and runs? like.. u can check for shaft play... but not sure what else.... just that some people have like a startup warranty or a 30-90day warranty... or there's just really no way? since i somehow doubt any shop has the resources lying around to just bolt it up and fire it up for a test run -------------------- |

That is rebuilt. We used it for no more than 3K miles on my friends MR2T until his new turbo came in. That's it.

QUOTE(Negative @ Nov 17, 2006 - 6:17 AM) That is rebuilt. We used it for no more than 3K miles on my friends MR2T until his new turbo came in. That's it. Rebuilt is always a good idea. I purchased a used turbo that was supposedly recently rebuilt . Took it to a shop to check it out prior to installing. Turns out it needed a whole new housing due to cracks on the inside. At least if it is rebuilt, you have a warranty and guarantee that it will work. |
