I have owned my Celica for 4 months or so & read on the net that the high level brake light on the boot was introduced in Oct 1995, this means mine can't be the 1994 model (UK M reg) it's registered as due to having this brake light.
Is there any other features i can look for to find out the year? -------------------- My Celica Is Now For Sale

There are two important differences in communication of dates - there is model date and production date. Typically production is earlier than model. So the case could be that Oct 1995 is model date for introduction of some features but actually the cars were in production already in 1994.
I know a case when a guy totalled his Carlos Sainz, insurance wanted to pay him based on AWD prices as they said that CS was introduced one year later than production date of this guy's car. This was exactly the difference between model and production dates. -------------------- '94 ST202 - tuned, highly apprieciated, but sold.
