I saw that Igloo over in croatia (if thats how you spell it) rebuilt his motor completely and had it bored out to a 2.0 with new pistons etc. Is it cost effective or does it once again come down to the whole don't even try modding an ST unless its a turbo or engine swap. I assume only being a 2.0 it won't even push numbers that GT's have stock. Any other opinions?

well, you can add displacement a few ways.
you can bore the cylinder walls, go to much and you could be weakening the amount of power the walls between the cylinders can take. you can lower compression, by having a shorter stroke or a lower piston height. you can also add more material between the head and the block (ie over sized head gaskets) personally id say if its turbo it might be worth it to lower the compression with low comp pistons and also bore the cylinders. but doing all that work for NA just isnt worth it to me. minimal gains. -------------------- |
