Does anybody know how much boost the 5sfe can take. Im am seriously thinking about getting turbo on my car and i dont want to blow it up. How much would be a same daily running. My car has almost 100k on it. would it be wise to put on a turbo without a overhaul on my engine. I dont want to get rid of my engine for a 3sgte, I want to keep my gt a gt. It is a sentimental thing. I just couldnt part with my 5sfe.
 also i have an automatic, will it be able to handle the extra boost?

Well a 3sgte will handle 400hp on stock internals. Try getting a 5s to do that
 Also if you are going to get a new gearbox, go for one out of an SS2 celica(the one with the 3sge). It has LSD and should handle the power no probs. A mate of mine has done this to his 1990 celica GTR, and it goes well. Heres his site turbo FWD celica |
