Okay, a little diversion...
Someone posted a thread on another Celica forum and I thought I would do the same here. If you were lead designer for the Celica department at Toyota, how would you style the 8th Gen celica? The rules: * You may only post in this thread if you include an illustration in your post. Even if you are only replying to someone else. * No duplicate images. You may modify someone elses image to illustrate your point. * No bending of the rules (that includes trivial changes to an image just so you can post a reply) * Anything goes (No judgements on quality of ideas or quality of draftsman skills, please) * Its just for fun ![]() Okay, to get the ball rolling... I dunno where this came from or even if it is Toyota (probably not). Google found it. ![]() * Mercedes Benz CLK syle headlights for a modern take on the Gen6 look * Quad Ferrari-shaped afterburner taillights * Vanquish style rear end, hatch, rear quarters * Supra style rear vents/scoops * 6th gen GT4 style mid air intake * all-wheel drive -------------------- Davey

Few reasons why I believe the tC isn't the 8th gen :
1) There are no alternative models for the tC. There isn't a tC ST, or a tC GT. Almost every single Celica that was ever produced came in different makes, or a convertible. 2) Toyota officially dropped out of sports car production because they said there just wasn't enough demand in the market. If the tC is the 8th gen, and the celica is considered a sports car, why are they even bothering to produce it? 3) The tC isn't sold in Japan. Every single Celica that was ever produced, to my knowledge, was available in Japan. It is strictly a US model. It's a decent car, but a Celica it doth not make. In terms of how fast it is, well, I'd say it probably would give you a better bang for the buck in terms of performance if you were to boost it, but it still doesn't have the aggressive styling that the majority of the Celicas have had over the years. I'm sure you could change that with body kits, different stuff, etc.. But stock, it reminds me of a Civic Si or something similar. This post has been edited by sinner96ST: Dec 12, 2006 - 4:42 AM |
