I just got my car back from my paint job. I noticed there was alot of dust from the overspray and all. However, when I turned on my car, my overdrive light keeps blinking. What is that?
Second, my miles per hour arrow goes crazy. Even if I just turn on my car the miles per hour goes from 0 - 60 back down to 0 then up to 140 then back down and then it does not move at all. My odometer, the one that counts each mile is moving by itself. I know my cluster was in good working condition. It also affected my transmission. My car will rev up high and the car won't move even with the car rolling, almost like the tranny isnt catching. So i started with L then moved my way up to 2 then back to drive, then it starts moving. but it seems like my car is downshifting almost like someone is turning off my overdrive. Do you guys think that my intake or injectors got dirty from sucking in all that dust? Can I use injector cleaner? Overall, this is a bad experience for me especially when all these things were working before I dropped it off. Maybe the body men were messing around with my car. I just hope someone out here can assist me figure this out. I'd appreciate alot. -------------------- 94 Celica GT

my guess is a short caused by a liquid. you said it shorts when its cold normally, and then works when its warm... would the liquid be vaporizing then condensing when the engine cools? also the sign that its slowly getting better kinda says the liquid is slowly working its way out, probably when its vaporized. Def an electrical problem. I would say getting your codes scanned would be the first step if your going to bring it anywhere. i know there are some places that will do it free with their estimates (at least in my city there is).
