okay so i cnat decide if i should buy
two 12' Type R' woofers...... or one 12' type X' http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4281.html or http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2444.html im leaning towards the type R. and i will be runnign these on my sony amp that has 1200 watts max power....... and waht type of a box would you guys reccomend? ported? sealed? help will be appreciated ![]() -------------------- ![]() KB |

as far as boxes go... depending on the application depends on the box. sealed boxes will give you an incredibly better sound but the correct installation of a ported box will give you a larger "thump", if you plan on making the boxes yourself, i would never suggest trying to make a ported box unless you have been making them for years like I have, in order for a ported box to work to its full potential, it must be tuned to the manufacturer's specs, sealed is usually your best bet... smaller sealed box = better response, less chance of blowing a cone, but horrible really low end frequency reproduction, larger sealed box = slower response, greater chances of blowing a cone (not really a problem if you rid your system of large amounts of distortion), but will hit those really low bass notes like a pro but a little sketchy on the higher bass notes... good luck, like the post has pretty much all said, just depends on your preference and what you are looking to get out of it
