are these really nesessary ? I have seen them and they seem to cover 1/3 or 1/2 of the filter ( wouldn't that seem to restrict air flow? ) and how much heat do they really shield. They seem to me to be just for looks.

random crap:
unless your heat shield and intake tube are plastic, they won't won't do much. the themal conductivity of metals (in general) is much higher than plastics. long story short, any metal object is going to transfer alot of any heat incident on it to anything it touches. that's why most cookware is metal. plastics, rubber, foam, etc are all better insulators. -------------------- do you know who i am, mr. worley? |
