I was just wandering if its really important to torque it at the right spec. If so, what torque wrench would you recommend?

QUOTE(My2Celi @ Dec 31, 2006 - 3:41 AM) I was just wandering if its really important to torque it at the right spec. If so, what torque wrench would you recommend? Use the proper torque specs when you work on EVERTHING you want to work properly and know that is going to not come apart simply because it was not tight enough or was too tight. Most components are designed to be held together with the proper fastener, fully driven, seated, not striped and torqued to the specifications listed in the manual. Sure there may be some situations where you would not use a torque wrench they are not limited to engine components ![]() Consider your brakes, suspension parts, etc. Guessing here is just that, guessing. Most auto parts suppliers have torque wrenches that are affordable and easy to understand and use. My opinion is, Get one and use it. Yellow94GT ![]() |
