hey guys im jux wondering if u guys know if i buy 4-2-1 extractors with a 2.5 inch exhaust system would i lose power becoz of the 2.5 inch system or would i gain power??? alot of people say that my celica is recommended 2 inch system, but i tink its a load of crap... so i need help on my exhaust system u guys r the experts so can u pls help give me some feedbak??? i have a 1995 celica sx 2.2.. tanks guys

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. 2.5" exhaust is a little too big. I know you don't like seeing a small exhaust pipe but still, remember the old saying, "It's not the size that matters. It's the motion of the ocean." LoL. Meaning the flow of the gas pulses and the pressure to keep them in one will make you gain horses. "Exhaust gas does not come out of the engine in one continuous stream. Since exhaust valves open and close, exhaust gas will flow, then stop, and then flow again as the exhaust valve opens. The more cylinders you have, the closer together these pulses run. Keep in mind that for a "pulse" to move, the leading edge must be of a higher pressure than the surrounding atmosphere. The "body" of a pulse is very close to ambient pressure, and the tail end of the pulse is lower than ambient. It is so low, in fact, that it is almost a complete vacuum! The pressure differential is what keeps a pulse moving."
