Well... Then you are buying a car, you cannot be certain that the shown mileage on the odometer is the real one.

Previous owner could cheat you. Some strangers say that it's easy to set back odometer data. For example your car run 200'000 km. Set it back to 120'000 km and your will find more potential buyers who will think that car is in good condition... And so on... I think you caught what I'm talking about.

So what are you thinking about your cars? Are their mileage real one? Or is it a fake? I believe that my 1994 GT's 170'000 km is real one, because of several invoices written in the past...

The second point. How it is "popular" in Italy. I heard some rumours that some guys are setting back their odometers because of some state's tax policy depending from car mileage. I was really surprised; why in example Celicas in Italy have even twice lesser mileage then in Germany?

Particularly I'm waiting posts from Italians wink.gif

Well, I'm not Italian but I do know that it is VERY easy to turn back the odometer. However, in the US, the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) in many states keep track of the vehicle mileages. Every time a car is sold, mileage must be reported. You can also CARFAX it. But like I said, it is very easy and you would never know.
