i got a 1 farad power cap for my amp its sounds so much better. the subs respond to hard core bass so much better. the dont fizzle out. its good stuff. figured i'd let you guys know. i got it for $2.50 at walmart where it supposed to be 79 bucks. my friend who workd there sold it as a different item.

The reason you noticed such an improvment is that your stock alternator is barely big enough to run the car itself.
Cap's are not cure-alls even though there are still some people out there who believe a cap will fix every power problem imaginable. A high output alternator will provide you with the amperage that you need to properly run your audio system, as well as the rest of the vehicle's electronics. Don't get me wrong, adding a cap can help, but it will not "fix" the problem. If anything it will only act as a bandaid and the problem will get worse. Using a Cap in the proper circumstance can help even out voltage regulation for better SQ. But it will not fix your power problem. |
