lately i've been looking at swapping out my 7afe for a 3s.. but i was never really sure if that was the best engine to transplant. so my friends and i were talking and the topic about replacing the stock engine with that of another car manufacturers came up.
now ive done this before with v8's and the like (favorite was squeezing a 302 chevy into a 240, hehe..) but thats more of a wrench and hammer job.. my favorite kind. but to the question, recently through some friends i have come upon a 20B 3 rotor TT mazda engine and was wondering is it possible to drop it in my 94 celi'?? these 'tuner' engines/cars have a little more electronic wiring going on than i am used to. but does anyone know what i would be getting myself into?? (besides converting to an all-trac.) sorry if i offended anyone by wanting to put a mazda engine in a perfectly fine toyota. (i'm just a fan of both) |

You want a cosmo engine in your celica. My buddy who owns speed vision factory here in pitt, has a 20B in is fd3s. Custom made cross member, the wiring is sooo messed with that engine he said screw it and did a complete stand alone which is better of course. Custom mounts, engine and tranny...t then if u did You would need the whole rear end set up cause there is no way to make the engine fwd. Gonna have to add a fuel cell in there...but ya i think thats about it. If u want links to his set up p.m me and i'll send them to ya. But imho just stop while ur ahead, get the 3sgte...something like this is just stupid cause it would cost several thousands of dollars and with that money you could buy a nice fd3s or a supra
oh and not to mention that the 20b isprob one of the most expensive engines to purchase these days from japan. For a non turbo 20b it's 4k, and for a TT 20b like 6k This post has been edited by OrbitalGT95: Jan 28, 2007 - 1:32 PM -------------------- Now SR powered |
