Ya so I'm running 3" turbo back.. with a flowmaster 50 series muff.. over axle .. 3" cat.
Too loud.. I mean just idling on the street infront of my house and my front door vibrates.. you can hear the exhaust from anywhere in the house.. even the back of the basement.. it's not ricey at all.. it's just really really deep grumbling sound... I'd like to cut the idle noise down by atleast a third.. but not restrict exhaust flow. Enter stage left... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Glass-Pack-...1QQcmdZViewItem 3" in/out glass pack... Think this will tone the decibles down or what? Should I place it close to the engine as possible or close to the muffler as possible? -------------------- 87 4runner DLX 22re, 5spd, 4.30gr, 4" lift, 30" tires, HID w/ Projectors, 6spkr + sub, custom exhaust, 94 celica leather seats, SR5 gauge cluster and clinometer. Future engine swap... possibly a 2jzge.

You should get a magnaflow resonator for your 3" exhaust (I have one used in my custom exhaust setup). The major purpose for the resonator is to muffle the sound a bit on the bigger exhaust piping before the rear muffler. In other words the tone of the exhaust will be near factory sounding except you get the deep tone of the rear muffler and it's still free flowing. I think somewhere on the forum I have a posting on how it sounds like. If not, here is a sound clip for you just to show what I am talking about:
