I have been pulling my e-brake a bit and its a bit warn as some would say. I have been asking around about e-brake pads if i can purchase some. A lot of people have been telling me that i can just adjust my e-brake but noone has told me how to. Does anyone know what i can do in a situation like this? Is it possible for me to adjust somthing so my e-brake is back to normal because as of right now i dont have one at all

QUOTE(wind @ Jan 29, 2007 - 11:24 PM) You can adjust them at the rear through the access hole on the discs I think the adjuster at the disk should be backed off 8 clicks from being in the locked position. On the rear disk there is a rubber grommet that you need to pull off. inside that hole is a toothed adjuster. You can adjust it by using a screw driver. adjustment is up or down. release the e-brake and adjust the rear adjuster it till the wheel locks. then back it off 8 clicks. You will need to do that on both sides. if that doesnt work then the pads need to be replaced. Make an investment in a manual.... saves alot of time Read the other part here... this is the 2nd way of adjusting your e-brake. If someone had replaced the discs, but didnt engage the e-brake pads properly you wont get alot of grab. once you make that adjustment you need to re-seat the pads by driving 50km/h and slowly applying the ebrake till you stop. after that you should be good to go. I dont have pics.... but you will see what im talking about when you take the wheel off. take a peak inside the hole and find the adjuster, its tough to find at first. I meant a car manual.... not a transmission I doubt you will need pads unless the previous owner drove with the e-brake on. This post has been edited by wind: Jan 30, 2007 - 2:29 PM |
