does the alternator charge the battery at idle? i need a high output alternater, but the ones ive found are 200-300 price range. im looking for something cheaper and was thinking about using a turbo timer to charge the battery for me. anyone know of a dirt cheap turbo timer or do it yourself instructions, just need the car to run for a couple minutes after i get out.

was kicking around the idea of a relay and capacitor to keep the ignition on, but im not sure how to wire the ignition to stay on without the key

cwm13.gif .... why do you need the car to stay on longer for charging? it charges the entire time your driving it. if your car is dead when you go to start it up again you just need to replace your battery so it holds the charge. unless theres something your not telling us? confused.gif
