Well about a month ago i got a Code 71 EGR malfunction. The code came on and went off over a period of 2 weeks or so but the car ran fine. Then one morning after the car warmed up it started running like total crap. Idling rough and power loss/spuddering on acceleration.
So i take the EGR off and clean it all out (it was totally clogged) and check everything out, changed the plugs and ran some seafoam through it. It then ran fine for 2 days until it started running exactly the same again..CRAPPY! Took the EGR off again and checked it all out and it seems fine. The car only starts running bad when it warms up. It also studders the worst when you give it more gas....if your real light on the throttle it accelerates normal. Idle is unconsistant, sometimes it smooths out sometimes it gets jerky. Gas mileage is way down. What do you think? -------------------- |

Here is a chart.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e362/bindertch/EGR.jpg The voltage for step one is 9-14 volts. The resistance for step two is 37-44 ohms at 68 degrees F. The resistance for step five is 6400-9700 ohms at 122 degrees F. If you need help finding what to test I can describe where to look. This post has been edited by bindertch: Feb 10, 2007 - 12:34 AM |
