im trying to remove the driver side drive axle from the transmission and it wont budge. its a 95 st, 7a-fe 1.8L. i already removed the axle from the hub but cant get it out of the transmission. it will move a little bit in and out of the transmission but nowhere close to coming out. is it bolted down somewhere? or is there a clamp thats holding it in or should i just try and pry it out. im afraid of breaking something if its still being held in by something.

What I meant you could do is after you have removed the passenger side axle, stick a screwdriver through the transmission and use a hammer to beat on the axle. Make sure the screwdriver is skinny enough to clear the shaft that goes between the axles. While someone does that, have someone jerk on the axle, just make sure not to pull on the CV joint. tongue.gif
