Hi
I had my Celica GT for around 2 months now, one of the forst things i wanted to do with it is get the cam belt changed as it was last done at 40000, its now on 89000. also got a few oil leaks repaired, the bill ended up being rather large! I was wondering if you need to wear in new cam belts a bit as my car seems to be making a whining noise since i got it back, the car feels fine its just the noise is a little disconcerting. so now im getting a bit paranoid that the garage didnt do it properly! is there much chance that a mechanic could mess a job like this up? ritch |

thats kind of how mine sounds, it doesnt sound particularly bad, it just sounds different to how it did before. i remember the sound faintly before, it just seems a lot more pronounced now.
i popped the bonnet and listened to the engine and got even more paranoid as i heard clicking and a loud hum noise, it also sounds like a belt is scraping somewhere. the problem is i got no idea what i am listening to, the whole engine sounds bad to me now. i just wish i could listen and know what the noises mean! |
