apparently there is a new law in michigan that requires the secretary of state to issue new plates. for those of you who don't know what a standard-issue MI plate looks like...they're blue with white letters.
as of january 2007, all the blue plates MUST be replaced with the new plate, which is white with blue letters. it will be illegal to use a blue plate after being issued a replacement, although it can be kept as a souvenir. the reason the bulletin issued by the sec. of state claims this all happened is that "police officers requested a change in legislation to make the plates easier to read, increasing public safety and easing identification." i wouldn't really mind so much if the blue one didn't match my paint almost perfectly with the tinted shield i have. the white is going to look pretty goofy. here's how nice it looks: just bummed to see it change. sorry michigan kidz, the era is over. -------------------- do you know who i am, mr. worley? |
