Ok so I just put a MBC on my car last night. No matter how far up I crank it, I wont boost over 5 psi. I spliced into the turbo pressure vaccum hose (between the turbo and the wastegate), ran that to the INLET of the mbc. Then ran the OUT on the mbc to the wastegate. I then pinched off the vaccum hose that is on the other side of the wastegate. I believe it goes to the factory boost controller. What am I doing wrong?
I know I have to disable the tvsv. Can anyone confirm if its the blue connector under the intake? Thanks

Don't forget, it depends on what TYPE of MBC he got. There are ball and spring type and bleed type.

If it is a ball and spring, you install it between the boost port on the turbo and the wastegate actuator. You also have to block off the second port on the wastegate actuator and the line that goes to the TVSV.

If it is a bleed type, you can install it pretty much in place of the stock TVSV. You may need restrictors and other stuff to get this to work.

I got the one with the diaphram. I took it apart and everything seems to be ok. Maybe I just need to place it inline on the other side of the wastegate actuator.????
What restrictors are you referring to?

Heres what I bought and am having issues with

ebay

Heres how I hooked it up at the actuator

Well, if you got the one in the eBay link, you have a ball and spring type. Make sure you have it hooked up the right way (like, try flipping it around). It should only hook up right between the boost port on the turbo and the wastegate with everything else blocked off (just like what everyone else has said on the thread so far).

When I first looked at the thread, the picture did not show up.

This one does not use a ball to regulate boost, but instead, it uses a Acetal/Nitrile Diaphragm. The Turbonetics boost controller uses an advanced mechanism to regulate boost, which uses dual springs to minimize boost spikes.

So I need to hook this inline between the vsv and the wastegate actuator instead of on the other side. I dont know why this would make a difference though.

I called is a "ball and spring type" exactly for that reason. It doesn't matter the exact method of holding back boost (ball and spring or diaphram or lawn gnome), it is that "type". When a certain amount of pressure differential exists between the input and output, it lets air through. Simple, effective, reliable. The idea is that the wastegate still 'sees' the stock pressure that would open the wastegate, but the turbo is at a higher boost.

You need to completely remove the TVSV from the system. Block off the second port on the wastegate actuator. Block off the pipe that goes back to the TVSV. Put the boost controller between the outlet of the turbo and the first port on the wastegate actuator. This is exactly what has been said on the thread multiple times already.
