So, I was wiring up my A'PEXi AFC Neo last night and this morning. and I finally got it all wired in... well, except for one wire. it's an orange wire that said it was for "illumination" and should be hooked up to "illumination for audio, etc." and I have no idea what that means. so I didn't hook it up. I turned my key to the ON position and the AFC started displaying stuff, so I figured it wasn't too important. anyway, so I go to set it all up. but I really don't know what I'm supposed to do. I turned VTEC control off, I set it to "easy" set-up (for the time being), I said I had four cylinders and for the throttle thingy I pointed the arrow up (for WOT?) it told me to keep the throttle closed, and it read 0.6V. then it said to fully open the throttle, and then it read 4.1V when I did. it said it's read was successful. Ok, so far so good. then I get to the sensor selector. I said it was a pressure sensor, and it came up with two values. IN and OUT. I set them both to 1 because I had no idea wtf that meant and the instructions didn't help. they said that for pressure sensors they will probably be the same value for in and out and it would range from 1 to 26... so I just left it at one. I went to start the car, and it did start. it had a check engine light. ran for like 10 seconds, I went to rev it just a little and it just bogged and died. then all the power went out. no dash lights lit up, nothing. the engine wouldn't crank or click or anything. so after a couple minutes, the power came back on... anyway, I have no idea what happened. What am I supposed to set the pressure sensor numbers to? and what could explain all the power shutting off for a few minutes?

basically, my problem is: when I went to set it up, there were a couple parameters to set. I figured them all out except for the sensor set-up. I am supposed to choose a sensor type (hot wire, pressure, flap, or karman) and I was pretty sure it's a pressure sensor so I picked that. then there are two parameters to put in, one is IN and the other is OUT. at first, I just left them at 1 and tried to start the car. it ran for a couple seconds, with a CEL, and then it just kinda died. so then, I more closely read the manual and vehicle specific wiring diagram, and it says that for a Celica ST202 and ST203 from years 93.1 - 99.8 that the sensor type was "PR-3" so, I assume that means pressure, and the numbers should be set to 3. so I tried that and the same thing happened... I checked the CEL and it was a code 31, which means "Open or Short circuit on the air flow meter" I was wondering if anybody had help or advice to offer. thanks
