I've had some problems recently with my new tires. For reference they are 215/45 Falken Ziex ZE-512s mounted on 17x7 rims. So Saturday night I am driving where there are some bad roads but I didn't think of it because I took them nice and slow. Next day I get up and notice one of my tires is flat. I check the tire pressure and it doesn't even register, 0 psi I guess. I'm pissed because these tires are a week and a half old, but I figure I'll go fill it up and see how quickly the pressure drops. I check the tire pressure in 4 hours and its dropped 2 psi. Not too bad. So I put the rim back on and I proceed to play with the suspension a bit. Now its Monday morning, and I just checked the pressure and its still only down by 2 psi. I'm wondering whats going on. Is the tire leaking or what?

Thanks in advance,

pete

If it doesn't keep going down then its probably not leaking. Keep in mind tho that when using regular air in tires (as opposed to nitrogen) that the temperature can fluxuate a lot especially if the air in the tires has a lot of moisture in it. Its totally a possibility that the tire has a puncture and still has the foreign object in it...it leaked until the nail or screw or whatever got in just the right place and then it stopped. Visually check the tire all the way around to ensure theres nothing stuck in it. If there is it can likely be patched so don't freak.
