How does 215/40/17 tires look like?

I know the recommended is 215/40/17's but who here has them on? I know many have the 215/45/17 but they look real big but I'm sure many are happy with its comfort. I have 205/40/17 right now sometimes they look good but at other times, they look scrawny on my car.
