So I got my car from the container a couple days ago (I'm in the UK now, I was in the US, I had the Celica shipped by container with my goods) and tonight it just dies...again. I drove it fine back from the depot, about 30-40 drive, then I drove it to work yesterday and back, and it sat for about 12 hours then, and it drove fine on the way home, about another 15-20 minutes. So I go to start it up tonight and it lights up for a second, not even turning over, and dies. I've had such bad luck with this car and it starting. The alternator is new, it was dead, and I got a new battery just because it was forever ago since I had. But all that was in the states before I left. So, what could be doing this? Any suggestions? I'm totally at a loss. All I can think of is when my portable charger gets here, but that's on Tuesday. I'm thinking maybe the battery could be out of juice because they disconnected it for the transport. I could really use some help guys & girls.

Cheers.

bad ground some where? or maybe just check your batteries state of charge. If it was vibrated alot in shipping from the container moving, etc., it can discharge and not accept a charge again. Just curious, how much did it cost to ship your car over 2 the UK?? I might be doing it in about 2 years time.

So when I try to charge my battery up it may not hold a charge; so I'd have to buy another battery? As for shipping, well, for me it the cost was nothing. smile.gif My company shipped it over for me; my wife's xB and my Celica fit into the container with my goods. Ro-Row is about $1600 depending on where you're going and whether or not you want to have someone pick it up and then have them drop it off. If you drop it off at the depot and pick it up in port, it'll be a bit cheaper, say $1300 (give or take if the price is $1600 otherwise). Just curious, are you moving over for good? Whereabouts are you thinking about going?
