i installed a gsm alarm recently but i couldnt arm it or disarm it from a distance further than 1m away from the antenna, but once the engine started i can lock and unlock the door from a far distance...and also once the alarm triggered i can shut it off from far as well...i dont really know whats going on here....i guess it's interference with the factory alarm and iam thinking of removing it..on a RHD it is a gray box located underneath the steering wheel?... i thought thats the central locking cpu...any help pinpoint the location would be great...

well there is a PCB board housed in a white box with 2 screws....is that the one? i took one of the screw off and looked inside but there is no relay...
also can you tell me what colour the box is...some said its black others said its gray... what i realised is that if i connect an extra length of wire say 1m to it i get another 0.5m range....so if i wanna arm/disarm it from 20m i gotta have a 40m long antenna..assuming that it follows a linear equa... ...this alarm got me into some friggin embrassing situations...i got out of my uni last friday walked to my car and pressing the disarm button at the same time...guess what..it didnt unlock!!!...after trying for like 10 trillion times i decided to use my key...so i got in with the siren blasting off...i quickly turned the main unit off then bak on...and there is this voice "the car is armed" and he kelp on saying the bloody sentence till i properbly disarm the car. Whats worse is the sercuritiy guards came to me asking if im trying to steal my own car..and i had a good time to explaining to them... -------------------- 98% completion --- aaRon |
