I have been planning on doing a 3sgte engine swap into my 1994 Celica ST. I know I need the ST205 motor mounts, but I am wondering what transmission to get with it? I know that I can use the 5SFE transmission, though I hear it is not very reliable to hold the power. I also have heard that I can use a transmission for the MR2, although I an not sure which one. If anyone could help me out with deciding what transmission I could get for this swap, that would be nice. I am also planning on putting a more powerful clutch in also, so take that into account. Thanks, mcwi5092 |

if ur planning on using st205 motor mounts u might as well get the e153 tranny from a v6 camry or solara, already fwd setup so none of that converting the mr2 trans to fwd stuff. the other option that people say wont hold the power is the s54 from the celica gt (all gt mounts would work) though mine has been holding just fine for 2 years now. i guess if u wunna do some hard launches often like at the strip or something then the e153 is the way to go
