Now that the mud has been slung and the e-peens measured, can we get back on topic .
For 3000 watts, I would recommend 4GA wire. 8GA to me still seems a bit weak. I would also recommend rewiring the connections from your alternator to your battery and from the battery to the chassis with better quality wire, probably 4GA as well. If you don't plan on cranking it, then why are you getting such a big system? Planning to enter comps? Just for show? If you run excessive power to subs, you can make the voice coils run hot and this can shorten the life of your subs, more so if you do crank it a lot. Do you already have this 3000 watt amp? It seems like it's a bit excessive for your setup. What is the amp's RMS power rating? And please, unless you are entering competitions, don't try to make your car like the one in the video. I had something like that with dual 15's and 3600 watts in a previous car I used for SPL comps and I downgraded to a single 12 with a PG tantrum 500.2 amp and my sound quality was far superb. Unless you want to be one of those jokers driving down the road trying to shake everyone around you, don't go overboard. Oh, and say hello to all kinds of new rattles in your car. Better get a ton of sound deadening and silicone. -------------------- |
