get a dsm or a bike if you want to be fast, then keep the celica for its looks, reliability, and economy. to reliably make a good deal of power out of a celica for you to fit your bragging rights needs its going to cost you alot, either at the pump, or doing a swap with a bigger engine, aka a v6 swap. which ever road you choose id advise that you be mature about your decisions, both financially, and also safety for yourself and others, not to mention getting pulled over, getting points and losing your license plus paying out your ass for insurance.
