NEW DATES BELOW
Hey everyone, Most of you already know about the Deleware Water Gap meets. Now, Its time for some more fun. I'm setting this up for two days in June. Saturday June 9th - Starting around 12 pm, lasts till whenever. Activities include - BBQ, photos, videos, Baseball (full field @ the park), and good times. Sunday June 10th - Test & Tune at either Island Dragway or Racewaypark. This will be determined as we get closer to the meet. Hotel information Clarion Collection The Inn at Panther Valley (NJ223) 1627 Route 517 , Hackettstown, NJ, US, 07840 Phone: (908) 852-6000 Fax: (908) 850-1503 I have 5 rooms set aside for Saturday June 9th. When you reserve your room tell them you are with 6GC to get the group rate. The room will be $105.00 Directions Change of meeting place for Saturday. I looked in the local paper and there are athletic events scheduled a majority of the day on Saturday at the Tunnel Field. For us, this means that parking spots would be VERY limited, and parents that are there might raise a stink over our presence and could unfortunately call the cops since we don't really have a "permit" to be there. So heres the solution: Right in the Delaware Water Gap on the PA side of the Delaware River is a large parking lot thats along PA-611. It's right within the gap in the mountains so its easy to find, and its much more scenic than the field we usually meet at. Heres the view along PA-611 from a recent cruise - And this is the view from the parking lot we can meet at - Its a nice picnic and parking area with a great view and a nice stone gazebo that we can barbeque at. Lots of road to give cruises on as well. It might actually be a better location than previous meets at the tunnel field. DIRECTIONS TO NEW MEETING SPOT: For most of you, the location change isn't a problem because you'll be following us from the hotel to here anyway. But for those that are coming seperate from the main group here are all the directions you'll need. From points East: Take Route 80 Westbound through the Delaware Water Gap and across the Delaware River toll bridge into Pennsylvania. You will take the first exit which is Exit 310 for PA-611 and follow signs for PA-611 South. You will stay on Route 611 South until you come to the first parking lot directly along the road on your right with lots of Celicas in it. From points West: Take Route 80 Eastbound until you get to the last exit in Pennsylvania which is Exit 310. You will stay straight after the exit ramp and follow signs for PA-611 South. Stay on PA-611 South until you see the first parking lot on your right with lots of Celicas. MAP: Day two - I'll set this at the Days Inn listed above. If this changes I'll be sure to let everyone know. Some pics & videos from last year DWG Meet - by Presure2 DWG - 2nd edition If you have any questions please let me know. I hope to see some new faces. -------------------- I will return one day. |

My car gets dirty just driving 3.5 hours from here to toronto, but 9 hours is gonna b nuts. Im still trying to figure out if i wanna try using some of the duplicolour sheild clear bra paint, but i should have a few good bugs plastered to the front end of my car. Man 9 hrs, is a cake drive for meets it actually makes it pretty fun if you don't want to clear bra for the meet cause its pretty $$, then use Blue painters tape and tape off the front of your car, best thing you could do for your car on long trips I'll probably be rocking the blue tape method for this trip U gonna b rocking the blue tape on the curren?? QUOTE(jason @ May 14, 2007 - 5:30 PM) yeah x2 for that car wash!! i usually use this rain-x stuff, makes your car look all unsmooth in the front but really helps with the bugs n whatnot, the ones that do get stuck can just be wiped off easily with your finger without any effort, onlything is the front of ur car isint all shiney thats the stuff i use i think, and thats a canadian site so im sure they have it up north where you are, id stop every 4 hrs or so to re mist it just to be extra sure, stuff just washes off =) can bring some wax-as-u dry for a quick ghetto wax too Ive never seen it b4..im gonna take a look though. But yea, sounds like a decent job, but i think ill bring my actual wax wax for after the wash. Hopefully my car wont get tooo bugged up. But im gonna b performing a test of that spray on bra stuff on my buddies car for a week, and if it doesnt work to well, im gonna give the celi a good wash and pop on the blue tape the day i leave. Im probably gonna b headin out on thursday night or early early friday morning. so im gonna b taping it off on thursday night. |
