Paint job prep, just need some pointers Options

I want to get a new paint job because my car's paint is really bad , also it has alot of dents and stuff , i am also planing to put a 404 lip kit and get it painted with the car... now i know that if i want to save money i should sand and prime the car myself , i was just wondering what sand paper grits should i use for the best results, any body have a favourite spray primer brand ? ... also i havent shoped for dent removal yet but i just wanted to know if i should have the dents removed before or after i sand/prime the car ... also a lil brief how-to would be great , jsut to make sure i got it right !

Yea i understand what your saying about wanting it done as cheap as possible. But if you want it to look good make sure you have someone you know is gonna do a good job on it. Thats what my problem was to. I wanted to make sure it would get done the right way instead of having problems down the road.
