AND THE WINNER IS:
QUOTE(mneal2_92788 @ Jun 4, 2007 - 1:47 AM) 71-73 (3rd gen) ford cortina haha lol. next Mike how did you know? seriously, had you ever seen one? what tipped you off that is was a cortina? i thought it was a when i saw it from the road. it was in a country lane about 100m from the main highway. i immediately spun the 540 around and went knocking on the door. gbota love country folk. she gave me the whole story: her hubby is a retires mechanic and restores FORDs and VWs. he picked the Cortina (L model) as is from a "neighbour down the way". the original owner bought it in '73, never took it out between november and may and only went "to town" in it. it has 63000 original miles and the original paint, trim and hubcaps. she started it for me and it purrs like a new car. no smoke, no rattles, no misfire. when i asked if it was for sale she laughed and said "Harold is around here somewhere, if i see him I'll ask." To which i replied:"He will never part with this, will he?" She said something to the effect that i was really smart for a young city boy and we parted company. Here are a few more shots of this curiously cute car from back when i was only a wee lad 10 years young: -------------------- |
