isn't she cute?..lol After going to the DWG meet, my gf (sarah) wanted a 6th gen sooo bad. She has an 83 3rd gen right now, but she wants to upgrade to somethin a bit newer, safer and better looking. So right after we got back DWG she tried to figure out how she could afford one, and luckly enough, her grandmother gave her a $4500 loan. So after checkin in the states, on autotrader, craigslist, kijiji *canadian craigslist essentialy*, checkin with some of my friends who can get pretty much any sort of car, and ironicly found one on autotrader.ca. Went up, took a look, test drive, and nogociated the price. The guy originaly wanted $3900 as is, i managed to talk him down to $3850 with tax, as is. So shes headin up there tomorrow to pick it up. Any ways, details on it. Its a 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S, 2.2L, 5spd, silver, black and dark blueish interior. The car has 215xxxKM on it, runs smoother than my car..lol. The interior is mint except for the usual slight rip on the siders side bolster support, and there is a small rip in the vynal on the dash pad. Theres no rust what so ever *that i could find*, no bondo, the paint is kinda mucked up a bit, there are a few good sized scratches but nothing that a good buff wouldnt clear up. The front end was tapped slightly and the fender got re-straited, but no accidents what so ever on it. But yea, shes gonna pick it up tomorrow, tow it to her house *no front brakes*, then im gonna go home on the weekend and work on it while shes in New York for a wedding. So by the time she gets home, im gonna have the paint fixed up a bit, repaint the dashboard plastics *old owner hacked job painted them gray*, put her new shift knob on, shift boot, front brakes, front sway bar end links, install the cd player from her car into it, install my old bass tube subwoofer and just do some quick work on it, clean up engine bay, readjust the fender and just give the car a good once over to make sure its gonna b good. Then on Tuesday when she gets back from NYC, shes gonna go get it e-tested and safetied. She will probably be making an account on here sometime soon. As for plans for it, we are probably gonna be buyin a 404 kit for it b4 the winter, lowering it, set of 17" replica Buddy Club P1 racing rims, paint it BMW navy blue and then just keep it relatively stock performance wise. Im gonna build her a short ram intake with some of my old parts sittin in my garage, gonna get her a magnaflow muffler and do a half back exhaust. Its gonna b fun having another celica to work with now and its gonna b run building it the way she wants to. This post has been edited by Valo666: Sep 17, 2007 - 10:30 PM |

Well, we made some progress, last week i was in class writing up a lab report, and got bored, so i decided to see if i could find her another celica on autotrader or craigslist. So after about 10 minutes of searching i had found 3 different celicas within her price range and for good prices. I found a 94 GT-S back in Toronto for $3650, a 94 ST hatchback in Detroit for $2800 and a 94 ST coupe in ohio. So i e-mailed the guys in Detroit and ohio asking about their cars and gave the guy in Toronto a call. So i called the guy and he was pretty much like "YES!, good car!...you buy now!!", i tryed asking him about things like accidents, modifications, price etc and he was pretty much just yelling at me "you buy now". So i pretty much said "ill call u back" and havent since. I then got an e-mail from the guy in Detroit whos sellin this hatchback. He tells me in his e-mail that he is actually in spain right now and is selling it to open his restaraunt. He then tells me that the car was in detroit, but is now down in Tampa. So pretty much he was saying "im not in the country, my cars on the other side of the country and if you send me money, ill send you the car", so i deleted that e-mail. Then their was the coupe. Now Sarah told me from the get go, i dont want a coupe, i dont want it in black. So sure enough, this celica is a coupe and black. So i sent a few e-mails back for forth between me and the owner of the car. i found out its in West Jefferson Ohio, sooo, about 10 min away from Columbus. Sarah came down to windsor last week to come pickup her dog, and i had contacted this guy saying we might come down to take a look. So luckly i got off school about 2 hours early on thursday because my teacher had to take his kid to the dentist, so we decided to head out. On our way over, we checked with coustoms and found out we only have to pay 7% of the cost of the car for duty. Not too bad, so we drove down to columbus, but the weather was very iffy the entire way down, we got caught in bad rains, slippery roads, and extreamly bright sunshine. We left Windsor at around 3:45, but by the time we finished talking to customs, getting over the bridge, across the boarder and onto the highway, it was 4:30..lol. So with all this crazy weather and little problems along the way we managed to get to this guys house at around 9:10PM. There was still some light out, but not all that much. We called the guy when we got into his town to see if he could meet us. About 4 min later, he rolls into the parking lot driving a mint 93 GT convertable...so we were kinda impressed. We fallowed him out to his house, and as we are pulling into his driveway, he has the coupe, his celica, an el camino, and a 95 celica convertable. We knew this guy knew what he was talking about. So we took a look at the car, took her for a nice test drive, took a good look at her, and we liked. Theres some small imperfections here and there, the front bumper is missing some paint, the drivers side doors got rust coming through *what a supprise*, a guy backed into him in a parking lot and dented up his passanger side 1/4 pannel near the taillight, he repaired it, but still needs some work, a few paint chips here and there, and he also installed a spoiler too, but didnt gasket it, so there was a tiny bit of water in the trunk. So the girl friend and i remembered that he also said he had some extras he would throw in for an extra $150. What are these extras? a set of 15" wheels, a muffler, and an entire brand new Blitz body kit. So for $150 extra, we had to say sure. So we went to the bank, got out some $ and put a deposit down on her. Now we have to go pick it up in 2 weeks time. So, meet the new baby of the family.
Only mods done to it right now are a cd player and a short ram intake. Shes sooo un-molested..lol. Its also a lower lower end model too, aka no power locks, windows, abs. It does have power mirrors though. Only problems mechanicly, it might need to have its P/S pump over hauled, but thats pretty easy to do. But its got a brand new tranny in it, not even a year old. Brand new clutch, not even 200miles on it. the interior is mint, except for the usual rips on the driver seat. Should be fun. As for plans, we are gonna install the side skirts from the body kit, sarah wants to buy a TRD wing for it, lower it, put an exhaust on it, curren tails and thats it for now. Personaly, i wanna swap a 20V into it though This post has been edited by Valo666: Jun 30, 2007 - 12:27 PM |
