Ok guys, I'm new to this site, new to the mod world, and have only had my 95 celica st for about 2weeks now. First off, hello to all and I love the pics in everybody's post and watching stuff move along piece by piece and seeing my options.
Ok. Here's my problem. I bought the car as-is. I know it was in a wreck before and air bags were deployed. It has been redone and is a great driving car and looks like new for the most part. My airbag light is on. I don't want to go to the toyota dealer just to pay $80 for a diagnostic and them not even do anything. I am gonna try the blinking light, jumping t1 to e1 or whatever it is to see if it's throwing any codes. First question is, will this let me know the problem to my issue? What may be my issue that the air bag light is on?(it's been on since I bought it) And whether it tells me or not, how can I reset the air bag light without dumping out a huge sum of cash for something I could potentially do myself? Thanks in advance guys and keep up the great work. -------------------- |

You don't jump TE1 and E1 for anything but engine codes.
All your other systems [ABS/airbag/CC] are checked by jumping Tc and E1. Disconnecting the battery will clear all but one code. I can't remember the # off the top of my head, but the way the system is set up when there is a problem a code is stored. Once the problem is fixed, the original code is cleared, but a "system malfunction" code is then set, and has to be cleared by grounding several pins. There is a tool that can be made to clear it with a switch, but I don't remember where the link is. -------------------- |
