So like the title says, i'm about to swap my 96 ST Coupe Auto for a 95 GT Liftback Manual. My st is my first car & I love it but looking long term I want a gt, manual liftback.

I didn't know much about cars or celica's in general when I got her so now that I know a little I feel like I want to make the switch. I bought my current car for around 6k and she has 65000 miles. I haven't done much to her yet, so although I'm really attached to having a 6gc, i'd be ok switching. The gt is being sold for around 4k with 125000 miles. I trust in the quality of toyota's engine and I plan to do a engine swap at some point so the miles don't really bother me.

I think I might just buy the GT straight up & sell my st myself. Because I feel its worth more than the car I'm getting and the dealer prob won't have a trade in worth more than the car he's selling.

But hey, gimme your advise, whether to attempt a trade in or not? stick with the st? tips of getting a better price in either buying or selling, lemme know. thanks

What is better than A 6 gen celica......2 of them!!! I would just keep them both. If i had the money. Use the st for a daily driver and the gt for a Upgrading, that way when your car is in the shop, you still have one to drive. smile.gif wink.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif

p.s. it would be cool if you could do it!
