Sorry to all you die-hard celi fans but i have to get rid of my celica, an ~80whp car that looks fast around my area gets me no where.
I want to sacrifice the looks of a celica and go with an integra, or del sol. The aftermarket support for those "ricers" is amazing and fairly cheap. Not to mention they are honda which in my opinion can last longer than a yota, actually its probably equal. So i went on the hunt and found the gsr or type r integra has a bite, my friend has a 4dr gs version (gs< gsr< type r) that doesnt look fast but his $1500 turbo eats most stock v6's and v8's at my school. Im 17 and im on a pretty tight budget, but after selling my celi (if i even can) i think i can round up $4,000-$5,000. I know i could buy an integra or del sol with this but i dont wanna jump into things without getting opinions from people who know cars. what would u do with 4-5k if u needed an import with some looks and substantial performance? No civics either lol (ug i could never steep that low) pros and cons of integras would also be much appreciated. Thanks! p.s. when i bought my celi i was 15 and i knew nothing of performance or handling, just that it ran and it wasnt a pos. Please dont flame me for disliking their performance. |

A Honda isn't really gonna rid you of negative attention...a modified one anyway. Thieves tend to target modded Hondas, as do cops. With my Del Sol, I spent a good 20 hours installing a crazy alarm setup, but I still worry about it getting stolen with a tow truck or something everytime I leave it somewhere (like in my locked garage).
As far as negative attention from haters, don't worry about them. Build your car for you. If you're really set on turning heads, the cheaper route is probably a drop, wheels, and sideskirts. The Celica is pretty unique compared to Civics and Integras...especially a modded Celica...and it looks great IMO. I bought a Honda, and I miss having a really nice looking car. Everyone I knew loved my car, and couldn't believe I sold it for a "ugly" and "girly" Del Sol. Oh and by the way, most Honda swaps aren't really cheap either if you're thinking of buying a Honda and then building it. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
