When the tC was introduced in the US, so many misinformed people were saying it was the new Celica. I believe it's supposed to replace the Celica, but that doesn't mean it is one and tC stands for "touring Coupe" not "toyota Celica". My brother just told me some guy at a Scion meet here in Miami had a magazine that said the tC is now or will be sold in Japan badged as a Toyota Celica. This would make it okay for all the ricers in my area to have the "JDM" tags on their cars and have them say "I told you so", which would piss me off. Can someone confirm this? I went on the Japanese Toyota site and couldn't find anything on it. I'm posting these here because you guys have Celica in your blood and couldn't find anything searching.
Thanks in advance. -------------------- |

the 250hp story is probably not going to happen. if you didn't notice that article is almost 2 yrs old. that would be pretty cool but i don't think it is going to happen. isn't there already a car in japan and other places based on the TC? i believe it's a 4 door though.
as for the tc becoming the CELICA in japan kinda like how the rsx is the integra in japan. who knows. personally i doubt it. the reason why they quit making the celica is cuz they weren't cost efficient. i was living in Michigan when they stopped production and i knew a guy that worked for lexus there near ann arbor. he told me all about it. but then again what do i know. -------------------- |
