I have a aftermarket iPod-ready deck. The Alpine iDA-X001. The quality and ease of use is better then a AUX one. Easy storage too.

The headphones deal, it's your iPod. The audio jack is probably messed up. I have fixed iPods and dissasembled them before. That could probably run about 80 bucks to order the piece.

ill take my 9883 with ipod cable over the iDA-X001 anyday lol
cause i like cd's!!!
hahahah

serious note though
i think ima invest in a type X sub... cause i wanta out due my friends that all have 12's and 15's with my one 10
