I was thinking about engines swaps for the Celica, and the idea of the Camry V6 came into mind. I mean, they had a 5S-FE, same motor as the Celica, and the 1MZ-FE, which is a V6 motor that was also in the first gen Solaras. Now, shouldn't this motor almost be a very simple drop into the Celica? The transmissions are also the same if I remember correctly. Has anyone ever attempted this or have more info?

The Mr2 people are swapping it into there MK1's like no tomorrow. I don't C Y its harder for us considering that our bays are bigger than theirs. yes it has been done.
Will I do this in the future? Yes I would because its cheaper to get a V6 with an old 3sge tranny vs buying a 3sgte. (Hmm 3sge Tranny just next door) I think you can use the motor mounts off of a Camry V6. |
