Hey guys, some of you from SoCal know that im on a road trip with my friends i took to the meet. Well my friend was driving my car at around 3:30am and suddenly my oil light came on and then my check engine light. We pulled over to the side of the road and saw there was oil dripping from under my car. It looks to be coming from somewhere under the timing gear cover, but im not sure. We were towed to a town that is about 20miles north of Kettleman City CA. It cost us $200 already, and we don't exactly have a lot of money. There is only one mechanic in town at Mobile gas station and he doesn't work until 9am. Right now were using the internet at a motel 6. There are only about 6 places in this town and were stuck here until my Celica gets fixed. We heading towards San Bruno, and were about 100 miles away from it i believe. We have been driving since 11:30pm last night. Is there anyone near by that could help us out in any way at all? We're kind of low on choices right now since I'm about 5 hours away from home.

OK, get this...

Same thing happened to my car last Friday. The oil pressure light came on on my way home from work after about 2 miles driving, so I pull over...

Lift the hood to see oil literally everywhere!!!

Turns out, the oil filter that was fitted last time I got the car serviced was a cheap one and the seal's screwed. Anyway, got a new filter and oil change and everything's a-OK. For the record, the oil filter on the 3SGE is under the aircon compressor.
