My engine still wont start so i tried the spark test with my plug wires, i stuck the screwdriver into it and laid it across a ground...no spark, so i goto autozone to get a new coil/distributor....BIG problem the "oem" distributer and the one on my car are COMPLETELY different....idk if the person before me did work on the engine or not but the only part that oreillys, autozone and advanced could find was a "california only" cap...idk wth that means nor what to do, they showed me the oem replacement parts for my 5s and it is completely different then what mine is...if anyone has and pictures of their oem distributer cap or coil then please post...if im just crazy...well keep that to yourself haha

Cali has diff. Parts. If your car was originally from Cali then yes you must get the Cali Dis. cap and coil. If yours is not then any part that meets OEM will work just fine.
Don't understand why the people at the auto part store wouldn't know that. Aftermarket and OEM will differ a lot if not slightly. Remember that if you find that the one you buy at Autozone is 5hittyer looking than yes you get what you pay for VS a NEW OEM part at Toyota. |
