I am happy to say that I am finally starting my swap. I have a 94 GT 5sp.
I am putting a st185 jdm alltrak engine. I will be keeping my tranny to make the swap easier. as I was reading the stickies on the swap i read that I should have gotten a clip. Well too late. I already bought the engine and most vital components. On the sticky post I read I need engine ecu wiring harness 3rd ecu plug afm ignitor coil injector resistor pack fuel pump resistor fuel pump relay turbo pressure sensor air intake piping well I don’t know if I have all parts so I took pictures of them and I hope you guys and girls help me labeling each one of them. I am hoping I have everything. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by y2komar: Sep 19, 2010 - 4:24 PM -------------------- ![]() |

just throwing this out there.. something i wish i had done while my bay was empty..
CLEANED IT! like really clean it out nice etc.. im actually going to pull my engine so i can start tucking things etc. there are a lot of things you can do while the engine is out to make the bay look cleaner etc.. and if you plan on moving your battery to the trunk, now is a good time ![]() |

Thanks. Today I was just looking at the empty engine bay and saying to myself the same thing. ![]() my baby ![]() For now I am kind of stuck. I got both wiring hardness out of both engines. I will be sending them out to dr. tweak as soon as I get a box to fit them in. I was trying to put the termostat and water pump back but went looking for the O rings and no one around me had them. I will now go online and search for them. here is a pic of both the 5f and 3s wires ![]() as for the battery I would like to move it to the trunk. Is there a special kit I need that you know about? -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE(y2komar @ Sep 28, 2007 - 3:52 PM) you know what.... Thanks. Today I was just looking at the empty engine bay and saying to myself the same thing. as for the battery I would like to move it to the trunk. Is there a special kit I need that you know about? Here is what i did for the battery... I bought a decent set of 16 or 24 ft. jumper cables. the wiring on them was either 2 gauge or 4 gauge (I think 4). I cut off the clamps and snaked it through the car and firewall. Then i sauldered (do it the right way with flux etc) ends onto it so i could attatch it to the old battery bolts (right at the old terminal area up front). Then i attatched battery clamp things on the trunk side so i could hook it up in the trunk. I would also ground it in the trunk if you get a chance. And be careful if you do it like this.... you have to make sure you REALLY cover up the connection up front REALLY wel, because mine frayed through the insulation (electrical tape) and the positive started touching the frame and kept shorting out my whole car. I'll try to look for some pics if i get a chance... Manny (presure2) did a nice install on his, i think there is a sticky for it.. he just used one power lead from the battery to the engine bay. He used speaker power cable like you would for running power to an amp. Also: http://www.speed-source.net/ go there and check out their shifter cable bushings, i like them, have had them on my swap since i did it. It would be a lot easier to swap them now than when the engine is in etc. but its still not that hard with the engine in.. anywho, about cleaning the bay up.. just take a look around and ask yourself "can i make that look better" and if you can, then do it. For example, if you can move something to hide it better (like the relay box) or wires etc. Its up to you how functional or practical you want your bay to be. But there is a lot you can do now that will make you happ you did later ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by jcbass7: Sep 29, 2007 - 10:27 AM |
