say i wanted to create some accent pieces, not necessarily performance cuz with an ST theres not much left to perform..say front n rear CF diffusers n side accents..JUST for show..
how would i do it? i know that you gotta get a rough shape of what its gonna look like, then cut/sand it to make it match perfectly, then u gotta get maybe kevlar n CF to wrap it with along with the adhesives to make it all stick together. also gotta vacuum fit the CF to the piece, so u could possibly get a high velocity vacuum n tape some sort of plastic around it so that it can form fit itself n get a snug fit. leave it vacummed overnite to cure n then remove the plastic n voila? this is my noob idea of the steps in making these pieces. can any1 please correct me in all places necessary? i want to do this on my own, whn i have the time, doing one piece at a time. thanks for lookin out! x -------------------- ![]() Pandelica 2.0 in progress. |

show purpose only so it was a wrap job.
when i make my doors this winter, they will be a fiberglass door (not sure if i'll lay any CF on it) which will save a good amount of weight. the sunroof will be a honeycomb core material (ltw) and a Carbon skin...stock sunroof weight ~25lbs i think. i'll have weights and stuff later when the project is actually started This post has been edited by playr158: Oct 12, 2007 - 9:56 AM |
