I was thinking about this. The idea of the intercooler is to cool down the air that is going back into the engine. Right?
Well the faster the air gets into the intercooler and back to the engine the better. umnn so does it make sence to just make the piping 2 inch so that it travels faster to the intercooler and back to the engine? I would also assume the shorter the piping the better. -------------------- |

pipe size has more to do with how many cubic feet per min you engine flows. (CFM)
also the faster you move something the more frictional heat it generates. there is a balance point between pipe size and speed and volume...its lots of math |
