hey, iam interested in painting my break calipers, just wondering if anybody has a close up shot of the painted caliper without the rims on!!, i just have the fear that i will end up painting sometthing iam not supposed to hee hee, nervous wreck when it comes to doing anything with my car meself..ye see i have nobody to blame if i do it myself and it goes wrong hee hee...any help? cheers paaaaaaaaaalz!

stevest202, how did you get the 'celica' text onto the caliper? I expect it's not a sticker because it would just peel off with the heat.
I did a really dodgy job of painting my calipers with a brush whilst they were still attached at the start of the year. The paint I used wasn't high temp stuff (Dad said it would be ok but I've since learned not to trust him when it comes to aesthetic stuff) and it's starting to come off so I want to do it again by totally removing all of the calipers and spraying them with some high temp gloss. The celica text would really finish it off nicely |

Will have to check that out! Is there something fancy about the hammerite paint that makes the dry surface smooth enough for the sticker to adhere to? I think goferris' idea of covering with some clear coat afterwards might have some merit. Currently my calipers are red but I'm a bit over that colour - thinking perhaps yellow would be cool with the celica sticker in silver... |
