My girlfriend is 19, and working full-time to pay for her car. To get this car, she had to use her dad's credit and he cosigned. If she moves out, they will take her car, yet she has been the one making payments on her car, even working so much that she is getting very few college hours in.
How can my girlfriend move out and KEEP her car? I am not too clear but I think she has been giving her dad her paychecks and he has made the payments using her paychecks or something like that. So to the bank, it looks like he is the one paying. If she moves out, they keep the car, yet her mom just demanded that she moves out or START PAYING RENT. Yeah, thats what I thought. Her parents are telling her that if she moves out, they will keep her car, and if she stays there, she has to start paying rent, ALONG with paying for her car, for THEIR groceries, and doing all the work around the house.. HELP PLEASE! -------------------- |

If you take this to court then the parents will end up with the car.
My advice is to tell the parents to give the money she has paid on the car back. And tell them to sell the car to get the rest of their money back. If they are stubborn on giving her the car, it just wont work out no matter what you do. Under the law, the parents own the car. So if you take it to court your gf will not win because there is no paper work for the car payments. |
