dabazied: In it's stock form the 3MZFE doesn't have a high tolerance for boost, the V6 of choice for turbo setups are the VZ series. Much heavier but very strong. However, like a lot of motors, there is aftermarket internals for the MZ to make it handle high amounts of boost.
I picked the 3MZ for it's instant response, fat torque curve, high power and still be able to get 30MPG+ out of it. It's the perfect blend of power, economy and OEM reliability. Did I mention it weighs less than a 3SGTE (I tend to sound like a salesman) In a drag race, the 3MZ would destroy a stock 2nd gen 3SGTE w/o a doubt. A stock 3rd gen would probably beat it on the long stretch. The 3MZ kills all at take off, I still haven't found a consistent way of launching w/o losing traction. Lagos: sorry, I didn't get a chance to go dyno it yet. Unfortunately it won't be until march/april until it's is back from hybernation. -------------------- ----------------------6GC's FIRST V6----------------------
