Hello im a new member to this forum even though i browsed this forum alot, Ive had my 6th gen celica for about 4 years and its done me good..only thing is ... its a 97 Automatic St Liftback LE with over 200k and i was wondering what i should do... I was thinking of either,
1: Selling the Celi and get me a 95 acura legend coupe type II 6 speed 210-230hp or 2: Buy me a 3S-GE (Beams) Motor Complete and Swap it out on my Celica making it a whoppin 197 bhp Kinda Confused on this... other questions i have is...since i never swapped out or even attempt to touch the motor cause of NC emissions 1: Will swapping the engine leave my check engine light... meaning will i be missing a sensor or two going from a 7A-FE to a 3S-GE? 2: Will the motor be a drop in or will i need to get custom mounts and do some welding fabricating? 3: Will I need Different Mounts switching from auto to manual? sorry for all the noob questions...opinions please |

that''s a perfect example of what you need to do, the engine used is a 3SGTE so involves a little extra work, but almost identical swaps. As far as emissions, you have a OBD II and the 3SGE is OBDI so your car would legally fail inspection with this engine. If the wiring is done properly you should have no Check engine lights on after done. all your other questions you can find answer for them on the link above. -------------------- ![]() |
